The reason for moving math to the front of the day:
1. We have a new difficult Common Core where problem solving is the focus. Students are most refreshed at the start of the day.
2. Our regular math time on the Master Schedule is from 12:35 to 2:15. This is the same time as Music on Tuesdays and Thursdays which means 10-12 of my students would be gone for 45 minutes two days every week.
3. Early days are every Friday which means math time shrinks by one hour and ten minutes on these days.
4. We are required to serve 4 weeks each year. This means that 9-12 of my students would be gone from 11:15 to 1:00 during those four weeks, shrinking math time again.
